Rev. Dr. Steve Sweet
Senior Pastor
Pastor Sweet graduated in 1988 from the University of Southern California with a B.A. in Psychology. He went on to receive a Master of Divinity degree from Fuller Theological Seminary in 1992 and was ordained as Minister of the Word and Sacrament by the Presbyterian Church (USA). He then joined LPC as Associate Pastor of Youth and Their Families. In 2000, Steve earned his Doctor of Ministry degree from Fuller Seminary.
Pastor Sweet has served as a Vice-Moderator and Moderator of the Presbytery in 2019 and 2020, respectively, as well as Chair of the Presbyterian Council in 2021.
He and his wife, Jennifer, have lived in Laguna Beach since 1992, and they have three grown sons who each attended LPP and Laguna Beach High School.
